Halloween night saw us undertake our second paranormal investigation in Dark Therapy Shop. The building itself is steeped in history, and the more we investigate, the more we start to uncover about this fascinating building and its rich history, and the people who lived and frequented the premises.
The Victorian building stands on old farm land, not far from Blackpool Airport and the South Shore area. There was once a catholic church which stood on the adjacent block and these homes were originally built to house the Nuns that worked for the church. The buildings themselves, on renovation in the past, have interconnecting doors, which have since been covered over and boarded up. The building we are currently in seems to be a treasure trove of Victorian architecture behind the stud walling and mirrors that now make up the shop. Old wood burning stoves that would have been the scullery, grand fire places, and high ceilings with old coving still are in place behind the shiny new interior. Above us, the building is vacant at present while it is renovated, but during renovations a few years ago, the buildings owners found another locked sealed door hidden behind a stud wall. The door had to be cut in half to gain access to this around 8ft square room, which stands at the back of the building, above our kitchen area and bathrooms, in the location where we have a hive of activity.
Did opening that doorway let out whatever was sealed in behind it? Has this possibly given way for an angry spirit who was trapped there to be felt downstairs as well? This area is where not only myself, but customers, previous patrons of the bar, our tarot reader, Abbey, and others have both seen, felt and experienced… something. From a shadow figure out the corner of your eye moving across the corridor, to full on choking, back scratches, cold spots and temperature fluctuations, items being moved in the shop directed at Gavin and feelings of either anxiety and emotions, or anger and rage, we have been experiencing it all over the last few weeks.
During Halloween when the veil is at the thinnest, we decided to investigate with a group of eight of us present. We performed a series of investigations with dowsing rods, pendulums, Estes using the spirit box, Ghost Tube and Spirit Talker app, as well as our own Clair senses. The spirit or spirits present did effect many of the members present with cold spots, hair being pulled or tickled, static feeling on the head, heavy pressure on a left shoulder, and these were all things correlated to what was coming out on the Ghost Tube app or Spirit Talker app. The spirit seemed to be a bit sarcastic to be honest, if that’s the case they will fit right in with us here!
Further investigation is required along with further research. We have been invited to go onto the upper floors and see if we get any stronger readings there, on the promise we cleanse the hell out of the place as well so any prospective tenants are not effected by anything malevolent or worse.
